    Writing Contest

    As in the last years the WRITING CONTEST encourages PhD students to write in a creative way about their research that is understandable also by readers without scientific background. Successful competitors write an essay related to life sciences which communicates his or her excitement for a research question, addresses a common scientific misconception of his or her field or just tells a fascinating story about science.

    Rules of eligibility

    All students who will register to the 10th GSLS symposium are eligible to hand in one essay related to life sciences.

    How to enter

    Only one entry per person may be submitted, the deadline is the 18th of September 2015. The essay must be written in English, using language and style suitable for a non-scientific audience. The length of the essay must not exceed 1.000 words and it must not already have been published, or be awaiting publication, in print or online. Contributions can be submitted as an email attachment (preferably as a PDF) to eureka.writingcontest@gmail.com Please do not give your name in the essay, but mention your name as well as the title of your essay in the e-mail. Deadline has been extended to the 30th of September 2015 at 8 pm.
